Academic Programs

Bachelor of Arts

A Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is a four-year accredited degree, comprised of the Trinity Core Curriculum, general studies, a major in a student’s field of interest, and electives. Students can choose from over 30 areas of study within 10 majors and 12 minors, with the ability to specialize their program to their unique interests. A bachelor’s degree can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.

	Business, Leadership & Management Business Management Nonprofit Leadership and Management	What can I do with it? Pursue graduate business school. Go into church marketing or management. Start a business. Launch a ministry. Work in a non-profit organization. Become a corporate executive.
	Children, Youth & Family Studies Children’s Ministry Youth Ministry Outdoor Leadership Pre-Counseling Studies	What can I do with it? Become a youth ministry director in a church. Run programs at a camp. Obtain a position in a community agency working with children and youth. Direct a church’s children’s ministry program. Pursue graduate studies or attend seminary.
	Communications Public Relations and Marketing Rhetoric	What can I do with it? Market your company, organization or church. Work in the front office of a professional sports organization. Write and develop website content. Work as a communications consultant. Become a journalist. Make documentaries. Become a film critic. Attend graduate or law school. Become a speechwriter. Start a public relations company. Produce newsletters. Champion a cause. Start a social movement.
	Early Childhood Education	What can I do with it? Teach in an early childhood learning center. Be a preschool director. Run a childcare center. Work in a church. Obtain a position in a community agency working with young children. Pursue graduate studies in teaching or administration.
	Intercultural Studies Global Mission Urban Mission	What can I do with it? Become a missionary. Plant churches. Work in global development. Teach English to speakers of other languages. Serve in an urban outreach organization. Work in a non-governmental organization (NGO) abroad. Pursue graduate studies or seminary.
	Music & Worship Vocal and Instrumental Ensembles Contemporary and Traditional Worship Theatre Arts	What can I do with it? Lead a church music and worship program. Pursue graduate studies or seminary. Become a missionary. Start and promote a band. Develop a recording career. Write and publish music.
	Psychology Clinical Psychology Sports and Exercise Psychology Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Ministry Forensic Psychology Neuropsychology	What can I do with it? Pursue graduate studies. Go into corporate human resources. Work with at-risk youth or the elderly. Take a sales position. Work in a social services agency.
	Theology & Philosophy Historical Theology Faith & Culture Philosophy of Religion	What can I do with it? We learn to apply what we study to practical issues in the church, popular culture, leadership, and politics. Some students from the program will go on to church professions; others will pursue careers in nonprofit leadership, law, writing, or education.
	Visual Communications Digital Design Video and Film Production Web Design	What can I do with it? Become a digital designer. Work in advertising. Go into interior design. Become a publisher, web designer, magazine editor, artist, photographer, or filmmaker.

Associate of Biblical Studies

The Associate of Biblical Studies (ABS) is a two-year degree designed to inform personal faith and provide a distinctive biblical foundation for life. The degree is comprised of courses in biblical studies, religious studies, and general studies, preparing students for transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at Trinity or another institution. Certificate of Professional Studies

The Certificate of Professional Studies is a one-year program that provides continuing education for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree. By combining courses in biblical studies and professional studies in a specialized field, students strengthen their personal faith and increase skills for professional leadership. Certificates are available in Biblical Studies; Children, Youth & Family Studies; Early Childhood Education; and Intercultural Studies. Learn more.

Certificate in Biblical Studies

The Certificate in Biblical Studies provides a one-year program for undergraduate students seeking to grow in Christ by biblically-grounding their faith. The program focuses on holistic discipleship, by strengthening head (informed faith), heart (passionate faith), and hands (active faith). Coursework includes transferable college credit to a program at Trinity or another educational institution. Learn more.

Certificate in Early Learning

The Certificate in Early Learning is a 20-credit program designed for working professionals in early childhood education to provide a faith-based perspective on child development, learning environments, curriculum development, and more. Classes are offered both online and on campus. The certificate is awarded by the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association. Learn more or apply to the program.

ELCA Associate in Ministry Theological Education

Trinity offers courses that may fulfill theological education requirements and specialized studies for becoming an Associate in Ministry, a professional roster of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Interested persons are advised to contact their synod’s candidacy committee before enrolling in courses. Learn more.

Enrichment Studies

Trinity believes in the value of lifelong learning and encourages individuals to pursue continued education for personal or professional development.
