Biography: Mike VanQuickenborne joined Trinity Lutheran College in 2012 as Affiliate Faculty in Theology & Philosophy. He teaches Modern Philosophy. Professor VanQuickenborne is a tenured philosophy instructor at Everett Community College. Along with a slate of standard introductory philosophy courses, he has been teaching a course of his own design called “Philosophy in the Cinema” since 2000. In 2008 with the help of a grant from Humanities Washington, he organized the world’s first philosophical film festival, “Philosophy in the Dark”. His other main area of interest is in the philosophy of religion. He lives with his wife Julie ('96 Trinity alum) and daughters Holden and Iona in Anacortes. When he has a bit of free time he can usually be found on his mountain bike in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands.
