Overview

General Education courses provide the breadth and intensive exposure to the broad world of liberal arts in the college curriculum. Trinity does not offer a Bachelor’s degree in General Education, but many of the basic, foundational level courses of a liberal arts education reside in this collection of programs.

General Education courses cover five areas of knowledge: Fine Arts, the study of music and art; Humanities, the study of the human condition; Social and Behavioral Sciences, the scientific study of human aspects in the world; Mathematics, the study of numbers and logic; and Natural Sciences, the study of understanding the natural world. Courses in each of these areas are required; the number of courses and choices are listed below

College Success Seminar 1-semester credit.  Required of all students accepted with fewer than 30 semester hours.

Fine Arts – Total of 2 credits

    At least 2 credits are required from the following:
    ARTD 201, ARTD 206, ARTD 210, MUSI 101, MUSI 270, MUSI 271, MUSI 290, THEA 210

Humanities – Total of 2 credits

    The following 2 courses are required:
    COMM 101, ENGL 101

    At least 4 credits are required from the following:
    BUSA 201, BUSA 205, ENGL 201, ENGL 301, GEOG 201, HIST 101,
    HIST 110, HIST 210, ICUL 211, PHIL 201, POLS 201

Mathematics – Total of 6 credits

    At least 6 credits are required from the following:
    MATH 105, MATH 205, MATH 301

Natural Sciences – Total of 8 credits 

    At least 8 credits are required from the following:
    NSCI 201, NSCI 220, NSCI 310

Social & Behavioral Sciences – Total of 13 credits 

    The following course is required:
    PSYC 100

    One course of the following is required:
    PSYC 101, SOCI 101

    At least 8 additional credits are required from the following:
