Coach Cornish holds a B.A. in Education from Pacific Lutheran University where he was a four-year letterman in football and track and field.

He is the Founder and CEO of The First Tee North Puget Sound, a non profit organization that uses golf to teach interpersonal relations, goal setting, self management and resiliency skills to children ages 9-18. Cornish is a nationally recognized The First Tee coach.

Coach Cornish has worked with over 2,000 The First Tee students since 2005.  He also coached the Glacier Peak High School boys team to two District Championships in the school’s first three years.

His coaching philosophy is based on the belief that every golfer has within them their own unique, perfect swing. The key to performing that perfect swing is awareness and trust. Golfers can increase awareness and trust by learning to manage fear and doubt. Because golf is a simple target game with the object to get the ball in the hole; scoring average is the key statistic. How to shoot lower is an individual process that the coach can help each player discover in different ways towards mastery.
