Makaela Hayward

Makaela Hayward

High School: Redmond High School
Personal: While growing up I loved playing sports and competing for a win. Basketball and Golf were what I lived for athletically. I wanted to be the best and have that set me apart from other players. But since coming to college and playing golf here at Trinity, I have moved past being the best, and reminding myself that I am not doing all this to have a win. But I am doing this to glorify God and show Jesus to all of those people I encounter during my round.
I grew up in Redmond, WA, with an incredible family who is nothing but loving and supportive. I am truly blessed. My biggest passion is mission work, and traveling to different countries to be in community with people and showing them Jesus' love. My heart is Africa. I have been there twice already, and cannot wait to go back. I love being at church, my church is my second home. The relationships God continues to bless me with are incredible, and I thank him constantly for that.
When I'm not swinging a golf club I most likely am doing something involving one of my duties. That could run along the lines of being an R.A. for Trinity, being on the spiritual life team, working in the daycare, or being a prayer captain. There is so much God has given me, I try my best to do it all with patience, love and grace.
Yes, I have gotten awards throughout my athletic career, which could set me apart from other players but what I really want to share is that I just have a heart for Jesus. To me, that is what's most important.
"We can not do great things on this earth, only small things with great love."

High School: Arlington High School
Personal: I have only been golfing for 5 years. These past 5 years I have been able to compete with kids who have been golfing for 13 years. My favorite food would be a nice, big, juicy T-Bone steak. I originally started my athletic career as a kid who wanted to grow up and play in the MLB but now I’m all about golf. Now my dream is to somehow make it to the PGA tour.
