General Questions

Q:    When will the location of housing be announced?
A:     On May 3, 2008, Trinity will announce the apartment address, distance from campus, and area amenities.  

Q:   When will students get to see the Trinity Apartments?
A:    On May 3, 2008, Trinity will host an “Open House” for current students, faculty, and staff.  At the Open House students will be able to walk through the different styles of units and catch the vision for apartment style living. A bus will leave the Issaquah Campus at 11:00am. People on the Issaquah bus will meet up with the Altar and Street class for lunch at the Trinity Apartments. Students will be able to walk through the apartments between 1:00-3:00pm. The buses will leave Everett around 3:00pm and arrive back in Issaquah around 4:00pm.

January Term Housing

Q: What is included in the cost of housing?
A:  Housing includes: utilities (security, wifi, electricity, water, sewer, garbage), bungalow (game/common area), security system, Resident Assistants, housing/maintenance staff, Residence Life activities and programs, and green space!

All apartments include: oven, stove top, refrigerator, beds, mattresses, dressers, and some kitchen supplies

Other amenities depending on unit: couches, dining room tables, side tables, bistro table & chairs, dining rooms, bookshelves, walk-in closets, hall closet, food pantry, french doors, water views, city views, green space views, hard wood floors, linen closet, storage areas, carpet, and unit layout!

Q:  What is the cost of living for a married couple who would like to live on campus?
A:   All married couples will follow the pricing for “one student” housing costs.  

Q:  Will married couples be allowed to stay in their apartment over Christmas break with no additional charge?
A:  YES

Q:  When will continuing student summer housing options be announced?

A:   On or before April 15, 2008 at the Student Forum.

Q:  When will Fall Semester housing requests be availabe?
A:  Housing Request Forms will be avalable on or before May 3, 2008. These forms will be processed as they are received.  

Q:  How do student secure their housing request?
A:  Room assignments will be secured when 2008-2009 housing security deposits are received. The security deposit is $100 per student.  

Q:  When is the $300 damage deposit due?
A:  A $300 per student damage deposit will be due when the student moves into the apartment and signs the housing contract.   

Questions About Amenities

Q:   Can a returning student request an apartment with specific amenities?
A:   YES – However the ability for all requests to be met will be contingent upon space available. 

Q:   What kind of appliances will be provided in the apartments?
A:    Each apartment will have an oven, range/burners, and refrigerator in their kitchen.  If other appliances are desired, they will need to be provided by the residents of individual apartments. 

Q:   Will Trinity provide shower curtains in the TLC Apartments?
A:   YES

Q:   Will apartment bathrooms come with plungers?
A:   YES

Q:   Will apartments be provided with cleaning supplies?
A:   Each floor will be provided with a vacuum cleaner.  However, personal cleaning supplies will not be provided for individual apartments. 

Q:  Will the kitchen sink have a garbage disposal?
A:   NO

Q:   Can a student bring his or her own personal bed to housing?
A:   YES

Q:    What types of kitchen supplies will be provided?
A:    There will be reasonable amounts of plates, silverware, and cups provided in each apartment dependant on the number of occupancy. 

Q:   How will apartments be furnished?
A:   All apartments will be furnished with a bed frame, mattress, and dresser.  However, some apartments will be furnished with additional items such as couches, kitchen tables & chairs, and barista table & chairs.  Additional furnishing will be dependant upon individual apartment layouts.

Questions About the Facility

Q:    What type of security will be provided at housing?
A:    TLC apartment housing will be secured by key card access.  Only students who are residents of housing will have a key card.  In addition to key cards, outside of the apartment each student will have a coded identification button.  If a visitor pushes an individual’s identification button, it will call that individuals cell phone to inform them of their visitor.  All visitors will need to let in by their host.   

Q: How many students will live on each floor?
A: 20-32 students will live on each floor. This number will change based on the type of units on the floor and how many people on that floor have roommates.

Q:   What kind of laundry facilities are provided?
A:    On the lower level of the apartment building, there is a laundry room with quarter paid washers and dryers.  Counter space is also available.  It is recommended all detergents be stored in student’s personal apartments. 

Q:   Will there be recycling?
A:   YES – Recycling will meet Everett city standards

Q:   Where are garbage dumpster located?
A:   There is a back door to the TLC apartment housing that opens into the alley where the garbage dumpster is located.

Q:   How will the heating in individual apartments work?
A:   Each apartment will have there own thermostat.  Residents will be able to control their desired temperature within reason.  However, each apartment will also have an individual meter reading so energy use will be monitored. 

Q:   How will maintenance be maintained in apartments?
A:   If there is a maintenance need in housing residents will be able to fill out a maintenance request and give it to the Director of Community Life.  The Director of Community Life will then pass it on to Trinity’s Facilities person on staff.  This Facilities person will then respond to the request.

Questions About Policies and Procedures

Q:   What will the pet policy be?
A:   The pet policy will remain the same, fish only.  For more details on the policy, see page 21 in the TLC Student Handbook.

Q:   Will there be a charge to stay in apartments over breaks?
A:    TLC apartment housing will close only for Christmas Break.  Any student wanting to stay in their apartment over this time will need to make arrangements through the office of the Director of Community Life.

Q:    How do students apply for J-Term Housing?
A:     At the end of Fall Semester, the Director of Community Life will provide J-Term housing requests. Students must fill out the request and provide a copy of their J-Term class registration displaying enrollment 1-4 credits over J-Term.  

Q:    What happens if students would like to have a guest spend the night?A:    The guest and visitation policy will remain the same.  Each student will have eight free nights per semester to register a guest to stay past 11pm through the office of the Director of Community Life.  From more details on the policy, please see page 20 in the TLC Student Handbook.

Q:   Can student paint their apartments?
A:   NO 

Q:   Can Students burn candles in their apartments?
A:    No, due to fire hazards and smoke damage candles are not allowed to be burned inside the apartments. This is also part of Trinity’s lease agreement with the building owner.

Q:   How will roommates for returning students be chosen?
A:   All returning student who wish to live on TLC housing must fill out a housing request form.  On this form, students will be able to request a roommate(s).  The Director of Community Life will try to meet student requests as space allows.  Returning students will not be housed in the same apartment as a new to Trinity student. 

Q:   How will roommates be chosen for new students?
A:   Students new to Trinity will receive a housing request in the mail that will include questions about your roommate preference. Roommates will be assigned based on the housing request. Some single rooms are available for new to Trinity students with specific housing needs. Please contact the Director of Community Life for more details.  

Q:    How will housing be divided?
A:    There will be male/female floors with exception of a coed and family floor. 

Q:    How do students apply to live on the coed and family floor?
A:     In addition to the housing requests, each student must submit a 5-8 sentences describing their request to live on the coed and family floor. Housing requests will be evaluated by the Director of Community Life.  Priority for the coed and family floor will be given to families, non-traditional students, and seniors coming back from internship.

Q:   What will the Inter-Vis policy be?
A:    Inter-Vis policy will remain as stated in the TLC Student Handbook.  For more information, please see page 21 in the TLC Student Handbook. 

Q:    Where will returning students be able to storage personal items over the 2008 summer?
A:    Returning students will be able to store personal items on the Issaquah campus over the summer.  However, over the course of the summer personal items will be brought to Everett housing and locked in each returning student’s future apartment.  Students wishing to use this service will need to have all boxes clearly labeled, sing a storage contract agreement through the office of the Director of Community Life, and also understand TLC will not be responsible for lost or broken items.
