The Trinity Lutheran College Men’s Soccer team is headed for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) region 1 play-offs next week in California. The team plays top-seeded NCCAA D2 Fresno Pacific (14-4-0) in Fresno on Thursday, November 15.
The Eagles finished strong this season with an overall record of 13-6-1 with 8 shutouts. Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Nedeau from Shorewood High School finished third in the NCCAA in goals against average. Junior midfielder Cesar Gonzalez finished third in the NCCAA with 15 assists.
Of the Eagles’ 20 overall matches, 17 were on the road.
The coaching staff is pleased to be making an appearance in the regional play-offs for the second season in a row.
“For a small third year program to be competing against colleges with thousands of students and athletic budgets far greater than ours, the accomplishments of our team this season have been nothing short of amazing,” said Head Coach George Dremousis.
The team has worked hard all season long to get to this point, and although they are seeded fourth, they intend to play hard and come home with a win.
“We are pleased that our men’s soccer team has played so well this season, and we wish them well in their run for the regional title,” Trinity President John Reed said.
