Trinity is pleased to be a partner college with the Act Six Leadership & Scholarship Initiative, a program that connects urban ministries and faith-based colleges in order to equip emerging urban leaders to provide transformative leadership for the college campus and their communities at home.
Trinity first partnered with the Northwest Leadership Foundation in 2008 to annually enroll a cadre of emerging urban leaders from the Tacoma/Seattle area. The Act Six initiative advances Trinity's mission to develop Christian leaders with a global perspective whose lives and ministry serve Jesus Christ in church and society.
More than 85 percent of Act Six scholars come from low-income households or are the first in their families to attend college, but they have achieved retention rates and graduation rates that far exceed national averages for students from all backgrounds.
At Trinity, Act Six scholars make a significant impact on our community as they serve as leaders in a variety of ways. They are members of student government (including serving as student body president), resident assistants, campus club leaders, athletes, and department and program interns.
And when they graduate from Trinity, Act Six scholars put their education and skills to work in communities close to home and around the world.
