Biography: David Schulz joined Trinity Lutheran College in 2006 as Professor & Chair of Communications and teaches courses in rhetorical theory, persuasive messages, methods of research and inquiry, public speaking, and the senior capstone. He also directs the college’s General Studies and Visual Communication programs.
Prior to joining Trinity, David was an assistant professor at California State University where he taught persuasion and rhetoric courses. He has also taught at Penn State, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Columbia College, and Modesto Junior College. He has published a book, book chapters, several peer reviewed journal articles, and a number of book reviews. He has presented research both nationally and internationally at academic conferences.
Schulz has a B.A. in Communications from Western Washington University and an M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He earned a Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in Speech Communication.
David lives in Marysville with his wife and two sons.
