Trinity Golfers Compete at Avalon Golf Links in the Cardinal Classic Invitational

Burlington, WA--Trinity Lutheran College sent four individuals from the men’s and women’s golf teams to the Cardinal Classic May 5-6 in Burlington, Wash. The weather was fantastic with sunshine and high temperatures all weekend. Host golf course, Avalon Golf Links, was in top condition and the players competed on fast and challenging greens.
Senior Kalan Smith came back from four strokes behind after the first round, to win the event by three shots. Smith shot 85 in round one, and followed with an 81 on the second day, for a two-round total of 166.
Senior Ryan Karsen opened with a 78 the first round and shot 84 on day two to be the top Trinity finisher, placing tied for 11th place with a two-round total of 162.
Freshman Austin Sigl finished in 27th place, shooting 81-86 for a two-round total of 167.
Freshman Joseph Gallagher finished in 35th place, shooting 88-89 for a two-round total of 177.
This event wraps up the Trinity golf schedule for the spring season.
