The event was at the distance of 8k for the men and 6k for the women and held at Plantes Ferry Park, the site of multiple USA National Championship events and the future site of this year’s NCAA Division II Championships.

Although the course was rumored to measure up to 400 meters long for both races, Trinity runners managed to put down some solid times on both the men’s and women’s sides. Crossing the finish line first out of our men was sophomore Johnny Bywater, who posted a solid season-opening time of 27:37.92, followed by sophomore Lloyd Byram at 28:57.53 and sophomore Cameron Siler at 29:02.43.

In the women’s race, freshman Amie Torkelson finished her first race unattached with a 6k time of 24:09.83, followed by junior Phung Vuong and freshman Camilla Flores.

Next up on the Eagles’ schedule is the Skagit Valley College Invitational on September 28 in Burlington.
